Ageing Skin

As we get older naturally our skin ages too. The skin loses natural moisture and elasticity when our collagen molecules breakdown resulting in a wrinkled, lined and dry skin texture.

 

Ageing skin is also linked to the presence of free radicals in the body which contribute to the ageing process. Ageing skin is a major problem that concerns both the consumer and the skin care companies. Ingredients that appear to be effective in addressing the specific needs of ageing skin include:-

• Antioxidants - Alpha Lipoic Acids Antioxidants are thought to neutralise the effects of free radicals by donating one of their own electrons in order to stabilise the skin cell's structure. • Idebenone or Idebenol - e-de-ben-one/ol is a highly effective organic antioxidant that alters the chain reaction that causes the visible signs of ageing skin. Idebenone is actually a synthetic form of CoEnzyme Q10 but regarded as more effective because it does not allow the auto oxidation process caused by a low oxygen (hypoxic) condition . • Fatty Acids such as Evening Promrose Oil, Jojoba Oil and linseed oil.
