Sunburn is the result of overexposure to ultraviolet radiation where skin tissue is literally ‘burnt’, with red skin that is hot to the touch and mayleavse you tired and slightly dizzy. Sunburn damage can be life threatening and is a major cause of skin cancer - one of the fastest growing cancers in the UK.
Sunburn is becoming easier to get with the depletion of the ozone layer making UV rays even more dangerous to unprotected skin or eyes. Research proves that if you are ever burnt before the age of 18 years old that your risk of contracting skin cancer dramatically increases, by 50%. People with fair skin are more likely to be sunburnt more easily - although all races, ages and gender can suffer from varying degrees of sunburn.
Sunburn can be treated using products that contain healing soothing ingredients such as botanical Aloe Vera or antioxidant Vitamin E or a combination of both.
Sunburn can be easily avoided by applying broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sun protection particularly ones that contain long-lasting Parsol 1789 (Avobenzone), which has been proven to retain its skin filtering benefits even longer than other skin filters.
Despite medical warnings and health advice about the danger of skin cancer, many people fail to apply the appropriate level of sun block for their skin type, level of UV exposure and do not apply it frequently enough.
At SkinStore we believe that sunscreens should always be used to counteract this easily avoidable life-threatening disease. To this extent we have brought you a number of daily moisturisers that also include a degree of broad-spectrum - enabling you to receive beneficial UV protection without overloading the skin with moisturiser AND sunscreen. Used regularly, your chances of being sunburnt as you go about your normal day will be dramatically decreased - leaving supple and healthy skin!
